Day 1

Hello! My name is Alyssa (uh⋅lêe⋅säh) and I'm here to relate the ins and outs, ups and downs, and lefts and rights of college life at UC Berkeley. I will record my experiences as a wee first-year by means of this blog. You will laugh, you will cry, but above all you will enjoy yourself at my expense as I live the life of a student in 21st century America (but you will mostly cry). The title of this blog is inspired by one of my favorite Beatles songs, and I feel it's appropriate for this type of journal-for-the-post-Y2K-spoiled-kid project. Although I moved in to my dorm with two other girls a few days ago, I decided to start writing today since it was my first day of classes. Plus also, I just got my internet up and running. So my first day of classes was pretty standard: professors, syllabuses (syllabi?), and one hopelessly bewildered but eager piece of fresh meat on campus. After attending 4 different classes and having 2 plates of free Korean BBQ (you gotta love college) I've had quite a day. But before I leave you, ponder this: if you ever come across an excessively sweaty professor on the first day of school, do you laugh or cry? On that note, goodbye!
